How About Some Great Space Opera Science Fiction and a Chance at a Kindle?

October 15, 2013 in General Topics

Space_opera_promoYou haven’t heard from me in a while, I know, and that hasn’t been because I haven’t been busy. Take this little offer, for example, that’s running from October 15th – October 20th at midnight: myself and a host of other space opera authors have gotten together to give away a Kindle Paperwhite, and we’re hoping you’ll take a look at the fiction we offer in the process. Of course the Beacon Saga is represented, as that’s my most-prominent delve into this genre.

What is space opera? Think science fiction with less an emphasis on the “science” and more on the “fiction”. I tell people science fiction is like fantasy taking a trip on a space shuttle. Rules will be broken at will. Space opera attracts a lot of readers because it’s narrative-based, typically, and is just a lot of fun. That’s not so say it can’t be deep, though. You’re familiar with the best-known example out there: Star Wars.

Anyway, just click the image in this post, or take a gander at: http://jonathancg.net/spaceoperapromo/

Do me a favor, when you’re there–spread the word. Download some books. Like some pages. Tweet about it. I’d appreciate it, and these good authors would as well.

Stay tuned.

The third installment of the Beacon Saga has gone live. This puppy packs in fourteen thousand words of story.

Just go to this page, and select the buy link for the site appropriate to your device–with my thanks, of course. Here’s the blurb, just to tease you that much more:

iBooks!

We’re now on iBooks\iTunes!

We’ve had a number of things going on since the release of the second part of the Beacon Saga, and as such it’s been quiet for a while. But it’s all been very positive stuff.

One of these items was putting a nail into a very valid reader request/complaint: our lack of a presence on iBooks. You can kiss that particular problem goodbye. I am very pleased to announce that almost all of our titles are now available on iTunes/iBooks, for the iOS device of your choice. Cindered Souls isn’t just yet, but it’s only a matter of time, and we didn’t want to hold up the announcement any longer while we waited on that publishing.

Beacon (Part I)

Beacon (Part I)

When I released “Beacon”, I was unprepared for the response and great feedback from readers. As such, I’ve decided to do another free promotion. Rush over to Amazon and pick up your free copy, pronto:

Download NOW for FREE from Amazon US!
…from Amazon UK!
…or from the Amazon store for your country or region (determined automatically)!

“Beacon” is a short story of about 6,000 words. When I first wrote this piece, I intended it to be a one-off tale, but its universe is so rich, and reader feedback so compelling, that I decided to make it a serial. This is a great way for you and your friends to get in on the ground floor for the rest of the ride.

Beacon - Part II

Beacon – Part II

As a matter of fact, I encourage you to check out Part II. It’s twice the length of Part I, it’s only $.99, and it’s waiting:

Just $.99 on Amazon US!
…just £0.75 on Amazon UK!
…or the equivalent on the Amazon store for your country or region (determined automatically)!

I’ll end this post with the blurb for Part I, which sets the stage for the whole Beacon saga:

Tersias and Mally have lived their lives in orbit around Beacon, the last star in the Universe. But now the young couple have done the impossible: they have conceived.

And something has noticed.

The Beacon Saga Continues!

Beacon - Part II

Beacon – Part II

Without you readers, and your kind feedback, we wouldn’t be here. That’s so important to me that it’s the first sentence of this post.

I am honored to give you Beacon – Part II, the second installment of the Beacon Saga. She weighs in at more than twice the length of the first part — north of twelve thousand words.

You can grab a copy right here from the Amazon store front appropriate to your country (or region), for just $.99 US (or the equivalent). As always, I like to let the tale do the talking, but here’s the blurb on the product page to whet your appetite:

Everything ends. Everything falls. For centuries, that was the fate of those in Beacon’s orbit. But now Mally and Tersias have a chance to change that–if they can survive.
