…like a hot mud puddle on a summer day. Gee, am I letting my southern upbringing come out? I think so.

After much deliberation, I think I’ll table the story I started last week and try to find something that strikes me the way I need it to. Lately I’ve just been so excited and wrapped up with my novel and its status with agents that I’ve had a hard time getting back to short fiction. I’ll grab some more passion at some point, but there are so many things going on lately it has just been hard to turn up the heat.

I’ll have to circle back and examine the way I’m brainstorming, and force myself to take some quiet time tonight to examine the latest crop of ideas.
