My cousin, Chef Kevin Gillespie, has announced the arrival of his first book, Fire In My Belly: Real Cooking. If you’re a fan of the Season 6 fan favorite — or just good food in general — take a jog over to Amazon and preorder your copy of the hardback version.
I don’t just plug the book out of nepotism, either. I’ve had Kevin’s food at his haunt here in Atlanta, Woodfire Grill, and both times they’ve easily been some of the better meals of my life. Kevin’s also a guy who puts his cooking where his mouth is — he goes out of his way to source locally for as many of his ingredients as possible.
And, of course, as an aside — he’s a very personable, humble individual.
Kevin’s style combines southern influences with global technique.
