“The Eighteenth Floor”, Honorable Mention, Best Horror of the Year Volume 1 (2008)

Holy crap. How did I miss this? Apparently last year none other than Ellen Datlow included my tale “The Eighteenth Floor” (Something Wicked SF & Horror Magazine #8) in the Honorable Mention list for the anthology “Best Horror of the Year, Volume 1”, for stories published in 2008.

Thank you, Mrs. Datlow. I doubt you’ll ever read this, but I deeply appreciate such an honor.

All quiet out there; update on editing

I’m still waiting to hear back on, well — all of my stories. The latest ones were submitted in the middle of June, so I should start getting some sort of pop back anytime soon. In the meantime, editing continues on The Tyrant Stratagem.

On fire (and so, I worry)

Right now, I feel like I am hitting on all cylinders. All my fiction I needed to sub is out there in the wild, I am editing up a flurry on my novel (the reader feedback was quite useful, so I’m revising once more before getting back into submissions), and I find story ideas coming forward in a torrent. But it’s not enough.
